As the days grow shorter this month, we invite you to join with like-minded friends to share an afternoon of fine food and conversation at the fall meeting of the Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.

Our assigned story is The Hound of the Baskervilles, a thriller involving a demonic dog, spectral figures on a lonely moor and an old family curse that forecasts death to the heirs of Baskerville Hall.
During the evening, there will be Mendicant History minute plus a brief consideration of the story’s talking points followed by a presentation by Sherlockian scholar Rich Krisciunas on “The 25 Things I Didn’t Know About The Hound of the Baskervilles.”
Also included will be the usual toasts organized by Chris Music plus prizes and news about our 80th anniversary dinner in 2026.
Entrée options: chicken piccata, grilled Atlantic salmon, or portobello mushroom ravioli.
All meals include a salad, bread & butter, dessert plus coffee, tea, and soft drinks. As always, there will also be a cash bar. All for just $32.
